The Center for Women (CFW), a project of the National Council of Jewish Women, Pittsburgh Section, provides holistic support for women in life transitions: women who by choice or need are re-entering the job market and need to develop skills and gain work experiences to live economically independent lives. We offer a mentoring program, free financial coaching, internships and job shadowing, workshops, legal consults, and a Woman 2 Woman Toastmasters Club. In addition, we provide individual, on-demand consultations, where women can have their financial and insurance needs assessed, get their resume reviewed, and engage in mock interviews and targeted networking opportunities. With the assistance of over 400 volunteers, fourteen hundred women (1400) in transition have utilized CFW services over the past four years.
The Center for Women serves all women without regard to faith, socio-economic status, or background.
